Debora Serracchiani is an Italian politician and member of the Democratic Party. She was born on August 10, 1970, in San Giovanni al Natisone, Udine, Italy. Serracchiani served as the president of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region from 2013 to 2018, becoming the first woman to hold the position.
Prior to her political career, Serracchiani worked as a journalist and editor for various newspapers and television networks. She was elected to the Italian parliament in 2008 and served as the undersecretary for the environment and territorial planning under the Renzi government from 2014 to 2016.
Serracchiani is known for her advocacy for women's rights, environmental protection, and regional development. She has been recognized for her leadership in promoting policies that support working families and address social and economic inequality.
Serracchiani resigned as president of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in July 2018, citing personal reasons. She continues to be active in the Democratic Party and remains a strong voice for progressive values in Italian politics.
